Summary
Conduct hourly rounds ensure that the facility is safe. Must be available to work any days between Sunday – Saturday, 10 pm – 6 am
Responsibilities
- Observe and report suspicious activities and or unusual activity to Security Coordinator and building management. Writes detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports. Enforces rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance. Informs and warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering. Remains alert for the presence of unauthorized persons and/or security code violators; notifies the police in any instance involving crime, disturbance or danger. Conducts traffic direction at special events.
- Employees may be required to sit for extended periods of time in a small booth. Employees may be required to walk throughout the garage or around parking lot. Employees in this position may be
required to periodically work outdoors exposed to all the different weather conditions. Position will require considerable use of arms and legs as well as the whole body. The employee is regularly exposed to fume and airborne particle and loud prolonged noise levels and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. Must be able to lift, carry and or push articles weighing up to 20 lbs.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. One or more years of experience in the security, law enforcement, or military industries. Must possess or obtain a valid Missouri Class E or Illinois equivalent driver’s license with a clear driving record. Able to complete a comprehensive background investigation and 10-panel drug screen. Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies,
procedures, and strategies to promote security operations for the protection of people, data, and property. Excellent working knowledge of building operations, Security operations, tenant operations, emergency response protocols, lobby desk / console operations, and parking operations. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for public interaction and report writing. Must possess a high level of interpersonal skill and the ability to deal with a variety of iindividuals. Ability to project a professional and positive attitude while maintaining confidentiality. Good problem-solving skills: The ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely fashion. Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting; may require computer skills. Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions. Must be able to handle pressure of working with high volume general public.
