Summary

Sapphire Strategies is seeking a motivated and personable Field Director to support Democratic and progressive candidates across Northern Missouri. The Field Director will play a key role in building grassroots power, representing candidates at local events, and ensuring strong coordination between campaigns, volunteers, and community partners. This is a hands-on position for someone who is energized by organizing, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to electing Democrats up and down the ballot.

Responsibilities

  • Candidate Support & Representation

    • Staff candidates at community events, town halls, and Democratic club meetings.

    • Maintain and update the campaign calendar to ensure consistent visibility.

    • Build relationships with local organizations, unions, and Democratic clubs to strengthen campaign networks.

  • Field Organizing & Volunteer Management

    • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for canvassing, phone banks, and visibility events.

    • Organize volunteer events and ensure they are well-staffed and effective.

    • Lead phone banks, text banks, and relational organizing programs across the region.

  • Communications & Coordination

    • Draft and send volunteer emails, event invites, and follow-up communications.

    • Coordinate with campaign staff and Sapphire Strategies leadership to align on strategy and goals.

    • Track and report field metrics including volunteer shifts, calls made, and voter contact numbers.

  • Regional Leadership

    • Serve as the regional point person for Sapphire Strategies’ progressive campaigns in Northern Missouri.

    • Ensure campaigns receive the grassroots infrastructure needed to be competitive.

    • Collaborate with other field staff to share best practices and support statewide campaign efforts.

Requirements

  • Experience in campaign work (field organizing, volunteering, or related political work preferred).

  • Strong ties to and involvement with local community groups, Democratic clubs, or progressive organizations.

  • Highly motivated, personable, and able to build strong relationships with volunteers and voters.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Hardworking and dependable, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • A team player who collaborates effectively but can also take initiative and lead independently.

  • Passionate about grassroots organizing and advancing progressive causes.
