As a Field Lead, you’ll play a vital role in guiding campaigns and candidates to victory. This will involve achieving identified goals, volunteer recruitment, and connecting with voters. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, as is a commitment to progressive change, a solid work ethic, and professionalism. Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Implement all aspects of the field program in assigned areas.
  • Perform direct voter outreach and lead volunteer voter contact efforts through door knocks, phone calls, events, and other tactics.
  • Recruit and manage a team of volunteers, including daily feedback and regimented training.
  • Work directly with the candidate to meet deadlines to achieve field goals.
  • Establish clear lines of communication between the volunteer leaders, the candidate, and supporting organizations.
  • Assist the candidate and volunteers with additional tasks as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • 1+ year of campaign work, 1+ staff training intensive with recommendation, or transferrable skills. 
  • Very well organized; excellent written, verbal and presentation communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and outside organizations and be able to multitask without sacrificing quality of work.
  • Demonstrated understanding of political climate and issues of Missouri.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Eagerness to engage directly with voters, including canvassing and phone calls.
  • Ability to exercise superb judgment and political savvy.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative, team-oriented work environment.
  • Must possess a laptop, smart phone, a valid driver’s license, car insurance, reliable access to transportation.
  • Understanding of campaign hours and an ability to keep an effective schedule and travel throughout the district as needed

Desirable:

  • Bring experience working canvassing tools (VAN and/or miniVAN) 
  • Bring experience training volunteers 
  • Bring other hard or soft campaign skills, like field experience or advocacy
