Summary

The Executive Director is an at-will employee who serves as the operating arm of the Greene County Democratic Central Committee (GCDCC).  The Executive Director reports directly to the Chair of the Central Committee and carries out all directives and initiatives of the Central Committee.

A 40-hour workweek is considered the norm under terms for employment; some weeks (especially during election cycles) will require more hours, some will require less.  The current structure provides flexible hours to attend evening and weekend work related functions.    

Office Hours:  9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.  Monday – Friday / By Appointment After Hours

Vacation Days

Up to 2 years of service (Two Weeks/10 days – does not carry over)

After 2 years of service (Three Weeks/15 days – does not carry over)

Eligible for one weeks’ vacation after six months employment

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for recruiting, supporting and training candidates and campaign staff for Greene County offices.
  • Responsible for actively assisting in recruiting, supporting and training candidates for Missouri legislative and senatorial districts that include Greene County, Missouri state-wide office candidates, and Missouri U.S. Senatorial and 7th District Congressional candidates.   
  1. Responsible for raising funds in support of the GCDCC
  2. Implements various strategies, initiatives, or projects of the Chair of the GCDCC.
  3. Initiates and coordinates media releases and public appearances.
  4. Communicates and networks with the State Democratic Party, Democratic candidates and various community groups such as Democratic organizations, labor unions, civic groups, minority organizations, neighborhood associations, issue groups, etc.
  5. Maintains web site and social network sites.
  6. Maintains and updates voter and donor databases.
  7. Manages the day-to-day operations of the GCDCC headquarters.
  8. Recruits and supervises volunteers at headquarters.
  9. Responsible for upkeep and use of office equipment.
  10. Reports to the GCDCC periodically as to the progress of strategic plans

Requirements

  1. Ability to apply basic principles of supervision.
  2. Ability to communicate well both written and orally.
  3. Knowledge of and ability to apply techniques of fund raising.
  4. Ability to operate and understand computers and other office equipment.
  5. Knowledge of how to conduct political campaigns.
  6. Ability to work long hours and weekends if needed.
  7. Have a valid Missouri driver’s license and reliable transportation.
