Compensation: Compensation is $60,000-$70,000 based on experience.

Organization Overview

Progress Missouri and its sister organization, Progress MO Education Fund, seek a full time Digital Content Manager. Progress MO is a multi-issue progressive advocacy organization that combines cutting edge online organizing and communications with rapid and hard-hitting earned media strategies. Year round, Progress Missouri will work to engage citizens from across the state around issues of immediate state or local concern.

Our mission is to provide a strong, credible voice in advancing progressive solutions to critical community problems. But we don’t do that on our own – we work as a communications team for the entire progressive community.

We’re a marketing department for progressive ideas – a campaign that never stops. We work year-round to challenge conservative propaganda in the media and make sure that progressive perspectives are heard.

By working together and uniting around issues important to Missouri residents, we will:

  1. Build a stronger progressive movement in Missouri. We will use innovative, internet-based organizing and communications strategies and tactics to dramatically expand active public support for progressive issues and policies.
  2. Secure major advances in progressive public policy. Working with other progressive groups, we will use the power of real people to encourage bold policy changes.

Position Overview

The Digital Content Manager is a full-time position responsible for leveraging the mission, vision, and values of Progress MO to grow the organization’s visibility and impact by developing, implementing, and managing an effective digital communications and storytelling strategy.

The successful Digital Content Manager will craft and oversee a dynamic and innovative digital strategy that utilizes all modes of online communication to challenge conservative propaganda in the media and make sure that progressive perspectives are heard.

The Digital Content Manager will work closely with the Executive Director and Communications Director to align organizational priorities and will engage Progress MO partners to amplify strategic messages. The Digital Content Manager will develop, manage, and execute digital strategy for email, social, and all online distribution.

  • Plan, manage, and execute digital content delivery strategies for social media and web accounts to amplify and drive organizational priorities, including email, social media, video and websites.
  • Utilize CRM tools to build, optimize and execute email communications and grow organization email lists.
  • Use CRM tools to create campaign actions like petitions, emails, and more.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on digital to assess impact
  • Create and maintain a range digital of content to help support Progress MO andprogressive partners
  • Explore and initiate new platforms to amplify strategic messaging.
  • Basic graphic design skills and the ability to coordinate and/or design graphicsfor digital distribution as required.
  • Support partner organizations as needed with content and amplification.
  • Travel throughout the state, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • A background planning and executing digital communications in an advocacy, electoral, or government setting.
  • Experience managing a CRM and engaging in digital organizing.
  • Excellent storytelling and written communication skills, with clear examples ofcontent creation that worked to shift public perception on an issue.
  • A passion for using data and analytics to find out what’s working and what’s notworking.
  • Experience managing internal and external stakeholders effectively to execute inboth rapid response and long-term campaign moments.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and strategies to successfully manage a numberof tasks and projects simultaneously, on a daily and longer-term basis.
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills.
  • Ability to maintain good relationships with outside vendors and partnerorganizations.
  • A passion and interest in digital and emerging media.
  • Ability to learn new skills and tools quickly.
  • A genuine interest in the digital landscape and emerging tools and trends.
  • A creative mindset with a desire to innovate, take risks, and unlock newopportunities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills in person, on the phone, and in writing.
