About MOVE and MOVE Action:
The Missouri Organizing and Voter Engagement Collaborative (MOVE) is a nonpartisan hub that provides strategic and technical support to grassroots organizing groups committed to voter engagement. MOVE’s role is behind the scenes, supporting existing movement organizations in developing and executing strategic integrated voter engagement plans.
Missouri Organizing and Voter Engagement Action (MOVE Action) provides a (c)(4) data hub and coordinating backbone for organizations committed to 1) winning on major progressive campaigns in any given cycle and 2) building long-haul power towards political transformation in Missouri. Working through member organizations, we are building independent political power that drives integrated voter engagement programs across strategic regions and constituencies in Missouri to win on progressive ballot issues and priority campaigns.
This role will support both organizations.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Coordinator to join our team. This entry-level to mid-level position is ideal for candidates looking to advance their career in finance and accounting. The Finance Coordinator will support as the operational backbone of MOVE, by managing day-to-day financial tasks, ensuring accurate transaction monitoring, and assisting the Operations and Finance Director with budgeting and invoice processing in accordance with MOVE’s financial practices and procedures.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage day-to-day financial transactions, including monitoring staff transactions, assisting with grant management, and processing reimbursements.
- Assist in monitoring and reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Support the Operations and Finance Director in maintaining financial records, tracking budget performance, contractor documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Verify and pay invoices in line with established budget codes and internal controls.
- Support financial audits and internal reviews.
- Assist with IRS Form 990 preparation and other required state and federal filings.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Assist in financial forecasting and budget preparation as needed.
- Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Background in finance, accounting, nonprofit management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes.
- Familiarity with accounting software (experience with [QuickBooks, if applicable] is a plus).
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Compensation
Salary is $60,000. Full benefits package including healthcare and dental, retirement, cellphone reimbursement, holidays, and PTO. MOVE is a proudly unionized workplace.
