Director of Development, Women's Foundation

The Director of Development is responsible for Women’s Foundation’s fundraising efforts.

The three most important characteristics for the Director of Development include:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CEO and Board of Directors for all fundraising and development activities 
  • Build the Women’s Foundation’s visibility, impact and financial resources  
  • Establish and implement a strategy needed to grow a $1.1M budget through the solicitation of individual gifts, special events, and corporate and foundation support.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CEO and CFO to develop and implement Women’s Foundation’s financial strategy
  • Develop and execute solicitations; write and archive all proposals with a long-term relationship-management approach
  • Research funding sources and trends to help position the Women’s Foundation ahead of significant funding opportunities and changes
  • Monitor all donor information; provide and present statistical analysis to Board and senior leaders
  • Develop and implement a stewardship program aimed at cultivating deeper ties with donors

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; 7 years professional experience
  • Ability to positively impact both strategic and tactical fundraising initiatives
  • Ability to construct, articulate, and implement an annual strategic development plan
  • Strong project management skills - organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Confident and comfortable meeting with the community; civic leaders and corporate executives, community partners and foundation supporters
  •  Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • High energy and sincere passion for Women’s Foundation’s mission
